A chimney is a typical cylindrical and vertical structure that provides ventilation for hot flue gases or smoke from a boiler, stove, furnace or fireplace to the outside atmosphere.

In the special case of chimneys, cooling towers, and flare stacks aircraft warning lights may be displayed as low as 20 feet (6-m) below the top to avoid the obscuring effect of deposits and heat generally emitted.

Wetra LED Aviation obstruction lights are preffered for air traffic safety of some Şişecam chimney plants such as Bosnia and Mersin. For example; in Mersin plant, Wetra Medium intensity red Aviation obstruction lights  (MIOL-B 2000 cd during the night time) are installed on the top and middle point of the chimney. All the beacons are feeded by control panel that placed on each piers. Its totally appropriate with ICAO and FAA rules. Also the lamps are lighting synchronous through the Wetra GPS system.
